Old Closet…New Pantry

We had a closet in the back room across from the washer and dryer that was crammed with junk and only 3 shelves that were screwed right into the walls. So a few weeks back after having most of the stuff fll out when I opened the doors I had had enough. I was also out of space in my kitchen for stuff..so my counters were covered in stuff that we didn’t have space to put it. So for a whopping $64.00 for 5 pieces of 12 x 6 pine and 4 of those metal hanger strips I was able to make a 5 shelf pantry for my food and booze. Check out the pictures here.

I Finally Cleaned my Home Office Today…..

I finally cleaned my home office today. It was a total mess.  People just throw there own stuff in there when they are done using it or company was coming over.  There was so much junk in the closet that the plastic guides on the floor snapped and the doors were bulging out.  But now I have cleaned and organized and thrown out all the junk and can now see the floor.

The desk was another story…I found 3 years of tax returns sitting there with a years worth of junk mail in between each year.  But I got most of the desk cleaned as well. :)  So we will see if I can keep the office clean through  the holidays and beyond. :)  Here are some photos of the office before and after can be found here.

First House Project of ‘05

It was either work on a customers computer in the basement or work out side demolishing the wall between the back yard and the patio. Hmmm computer work or demolition. I picked demolition..and I remembered to take photos. The before and after shots can be seen at http://www.bilancio.org/gallery/patiowall . The reason I wanted to remove the wall in the first place was that I felt when you were in the yard you were separated from the patio and vise versa. There was also no flow from the patio to the back yard. I will be removing the bush when my aunt gets back from Florida and putting it some where else on the property. Hopefully I can get grass to grow there by memorial day and the first party of the year….

Been a busy mornin’

I got all the users machines moved over to DHCP this morning. Now I can start working on getting the wins server moved off of it’s current box. That should take a few hours. Spent the rest of the morning upgrading some of the mail server software. I need a break from Windows so spent the rest of the morning in my Linux environment.

Spent a few hours at Home Depot looking at kitchen flooring and cabinets and counter tops. Then went home and tried to figure out how to get what I want to fit in the room. I think I might have to remove a wall or part of it. I need to get Dean over and take a look and see if it’s possible or not. If not I have to re-figure out my layout. More on this when I get more things figured out.

Get to go out to my first client as a legal business tonight…that’s right I got all the papers filed and am now a Limited Liability Company. Shouldn’t be to bad tonight just get his modem working and fix a mouse problem…. more on this after the job is done…..

Dry Wall Heavy, Back Sore. 4 days till Birthday

Back to New York today. I hope to be there only for about an hour. The computer in question is getting a lot of “Performed an Illegal Operation” when the user tries to print from IE and Office. I am taking a page from Simon over at www.bofhcam.org and just reghosting it with the image I made last year.

Spent the weekend working on the kitchen. I pulled off the paneling on Saturday morning then spent most of the afternoon filling the voids and holes with srtuctolite. I love that stuff, hardens in like 20 min after application to the wall and is rock hard. Spent Saturday evening hanging out with Avery watching TV and playing, after we went to see the paint guy Al at Sears to get the paint for the kitchen.

Charlotte came down and took Carolyn over to there Dads. When they got there things were not good and they had to cancel there big dinner out to the Washington Crossing Inn. Sunday wasn’t that much better for them…

I conned my cousin John into getting up early and taking me to Home Depot to pick up the sheet rock (dry wall) and other things. I was back by 9:30 and couldn’t talk him into helping me hang it. It took me about 7 hours to hang 7 pieces. I also had to re-frame the old door way to the Basement and so there were some studs to attach the dry all to next to the fridge. I think it all ready looks better.

I will mud and tape tonight. I hope to have it all done by Thursday so I can prime the walls, Killz and Paint the ceiling on Friday (my birthday) and then paint the walls on Saturday.
