The Day after the Beacon

Wow what a show I will definitely be going next year if they are still this good. The show started off hot and just kept getting hotter. They ended around 10:50 ann Henry and I thought wow short show and hey we will be getting home early. Then Butch Trucks came out and made a quick announcement that for the encore they would do something they have never played before. He got back up behind his kit and the rest of the band came back out. And then all hell broke lose as they kicked off the encore with a JAMMING version of Layla…in memory of Duane Allman who played guitar on it with Eric Clapton. this was followed right into Mountain Jam. During Jam they fit in the drum solo and base solo. So the encore went for another hour which was great. So if you are in the NYC area in the next few weeks stop by the Beacon and see if you can get a ticket because it will be worth it.
